200 Hour Yoga TTC at Suan Sati

Suan Sati will be leading a 200 hour yoga teacher training in Chiang Mai, Thailand on June 9th – July 6th. The theme of this course is JOY! The tools to access joy are the greatest gift we can give ourselves and the students we wish to inspire. The main focus of this course will be Hatha and Vinyasa asana practice, Vipassana meditation, and Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion. We will also highlight traditional yoga philosophy, Buddhism, Yin Yoga, and lots of work opening the voice to support the Bhakti yoga practice. This course will fulfill all requirements of Yoga Alliance in order to be registered as a certified 200 hour yoga teacher. After this course, not only will you have a certificate to teach, you will feel empowered and prepared to teach right away in a variety of environments and to diverse groups of students.

Sample Schedule

The course will run Monday through Saturday, with Saturdays being half days until lunch. Sundays are a day of rest and self-study. Students can go into town on their time off, or stay on site. Meals are provided throughout the weekend at no additional charge.

Monday – Friday

  • 5:30 am – Wake Up
  • 6-9 – Morning Practice
  • 9-10:30 – Breakfast
  • 10:30-1 – Anatomy/Philosophy/Teaching methodology
  • 1-2:30 – Lunch
  • 2:30-3:45 – Teaching Methodology
  • 4-6 – Afternoon Practice
  • 6-7:30 Dinner
  • 7:30-8:30 – Meditation/Scriptural Study/Pranayama/Kirtan

Saturday – Half Day

  • 5:30 am – Wake Up
  • 6-9 – Morning Practice

Sunday – Rest and Self-Study Day

Course Requirements

  • – Minimum 1 year of consistent yoga practice. Less experienced yogis will be considered if the considerable dedication to their practice is shown, i.e. daily practice in an intensive environment.
  • – A positive, determined attitude and an open mind receptive to new teachings/ideas. You will be tested both mentally and physically during this course and we must be sure that you are up to the challenge.
  • – Complete our application form and interview to determine suitability.
  • – Upon acceptance into the training program, a deposit of $300 USD will be required to reserve your space. The remainder of the balance must be paid minimum 30 days before the course begins to confirm the space.

*It is important to note that not everyone who participates in a yoga teacher training course wants to be a yoga teacher afterwards. Some do it only to deepen their own practice. We welcome all students and all motivations for doing this course. Significant attention will be given to the art of teaching, but even this can be seen as a window into how to deepen one’s own practice.
